Hong Yang - one of the most sought after keyboardists in Melbourne - brings together an intimate trio experience (Tim Agius on bass and Gandhi Manohara on drums) featuring some original songs plus tasteful reinterpretations of jazz standards and popular covers - famous and obscure. 🎶

Spoken word artist and dancer Sizwe will also make a special guest appearance! 🎤

HONG YANG: 🎹

Hong Yang is one of the most sought after keyboardists in Melbourne. He is well known to the Bar Oussou family as the integral member of Yusupha Ngum and the Affia Band, which had the honour of playing at this year's Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Hong has also recently launched his own singer-songwriter project called the Holygnü Experience at Bar Oussou to a warm and passionate reception. 👏

Hong's interest and activities span almost every facet of music imaginable, including performing, singing, writing, arranging, producing, and directing. His music is not limited by genre, but only by the imagination of the people he collaborates with. This is evident from the work he has done as both performer and creator, which spans the realms of classical, film music, jazz, blues, neo-soul, R&B/hip-hop, pop, rock, folk, Afro-fusion, Balinese gamelan and Brazilian latin. 🪕
